Ushering in the underground electronic project’s 23rd year, the 3kStatic collective will release Gunrubber, 28 January, 22. The 9-track concept album is the 11th full-length 3kStatic LP.
Titled after the late-Seventies Sheffield (UK) ‘zine published by the late Paul Bower – who would later sign and mentor 3kStatic as an early artist on the AWAL label and distribution service he founded later in his career – Gunrubber is an exploration of electronic music in its past, present and future forms.
Available on digital, vinyl, cassette, jewel case disc and jacket case disc, Gunrubber features lead single “I Want You”, an Electro House take on the 1985 Cabaret Voltaire classic.
The Gunrubber album artwork highlights Sly Violet, as photographed by Dylan Andrew Miller, while the “I Want You” single is served well by commissioned original artwork by Tommy Wilson Design.
The “I Want You” promotional visuals are based on the short film Casanova Nosferatu by indie filmmaker Lawrence Hollie, and evokes the original Peter Care music video.
Gunrubber and “I Want You” (CD Single) by 3kStatic are now available for pre-order now in all formats from the 3kStatic Online Store.
