Taken from the forthcoming 3kStatic album Gunrubber, lead single “I Want You” is an abstract Electro House take on the 1985 Cabaret Voltaire classic.
Available on digital and (jacket case) CD Single formats, “I Want You” features commissioned original artwork by Tommy Wilson Design, and is supported by promotional visuals based on the short film Casanova Nosferatu by indie filmmaker Lawrence Hollie.
Like the release art – and the track itself – the promotional visuals are an intended call back to the original Peter Care music video for the Cabs’ single.
The track also includes sampled voice elements contributed several years prior by Richard H. Kirk of Cabaret Voltaire.
Those elements had gone previously unused before the 3kStatic version of “I Want You”.
Production of the 3kStatic single version was completed in March 2021.
“I Want You” by 3kStatic will be officially released 28 January 2022. The album Gunrubber, as well as the single, are now available for pre-order via the 3kStatic Online Store.
