The 3kStatic album “The New Face of British Coal” is available now in digital, disc and vinyl formats.
A 12-track concept albums that uses the 1984-85 UK Coal Miner’s Strike as a starting point for exploring the evolution of Northern electronic music from that point – and its continued prescience in today’s reality, “The New Face of British Coal” continues a trilogy of stridently socially-conscious releases that began with the 3kStatic / Ian Urbina collaboration “Vigilante Injustice” (2023 Synethesia Media).
Released earlier this year, “Vigilante Injustice” is inspired by Urbina’s groundbreaking book The Outlaw Ocean.
“The New Face of British Coal” is dedicated to the work of the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign.
“The New Face of British Coal” includes the #15 DJ (House) charting single “Yes It Is”, plus additional singles “Jah Love”, “It’s The Way (Shembe)” and “Spiritual Destruction (Lick It)”.
